Paradox Point QAL - Block 10

Paradox Point QAL - Block 10

Block 10 - yowza! That means we are rounding the corner towards the finish line of our Paradox Point QAL. (Sorry for the metaphor but I just watched the Kentucky Derby!) This is a neat block featuring some stacked flying geese. Block 10 is one that can take on multiple looks depending on the contrast in your main colors and fabric placement. Let's take a look at what our talent sewers did!

Drumroll please.... We are revealing the finished Arcadia Avenue quilts this week (and next week) and we are kicking things off with fun rainbow version! I love this version! Each block has it's own color plus a light, medium and dark. It is a fun, colorful and scrappy take on the original.
Firelights Lane in Summer Song 2

Firelights Lane in Summer Song 2

Today I am sharing the perfect quilt for summer!

We made this Firelights Lane quilt up in Summer Song 2 by Zoe Pearn for Riley Blake Designs' Quilt Market booth in Minneapolis this Spring. This fun line is full of bright colors, funky flowers, multicolored stripes and blooming trees.

Diamond Detour in Little Monsters

Diamond Detour in Little Monsters

We made this fun scrappy version Diamond Detour with Andover Fabrics Little Monsters line. The line had lots of fun little critters like frogs, monsters, robots, numbers, snails, soccer balls, skulls and a neat stripe! We wanted to feature all the fabrics, so we changed up the pattern a little.
Sewology Sunday - Getting Perfect Centers

Sewology Sunday - Getting Perfect Centers

Before the football and eating begins we are squeezing in a little Sewology Sunday post to accompany the Arcadia Avenue QAL post tomorrow. We thought it might be nice to share how to get perfect centers on your Arcadia Avenue hexagon blocks before most of you start sewing!
Adding Prints to the Diamond Detour

Adding Prints to the Diamond Detour

The cover quilt of the Diamond Detour is all about solids, so today we are going to focus on adding prints to the quilt. The Diamond Detour is a great way to show off your favorite prints. We have two examples today that are completely different! One features different prints in the pieced diamonds and the other features one busy print as the background.
Introducing Diamond Detour!

Introducing Diamond Detour!

Say hello to the newest pattern of the Sassafras Lane bunch, Diamond Detour! This is our fun new take on our popular Diamond Alley quilt pattern. We made the diamonds smaller and ditched the sashing. Show off your favorite prints, create a cascade of color or feature a single print as the background.

Here is a little sneak peek of what we have been up to!
Elsie Stone's Diamond Alley Quilt

Elsie Stone's Diamond Alley Quilt

Elsie Stone sent us pictures of her gorgeous Diamond Alley quilt and we had to share them! She used assorted red fabrics for the diamonds, ranging from light pink to dark maroon, and a crisp white for the background. She made the Diamond Alley quilt pattern larger by adding 2 more vertical rows, making a total of 39 diamonds, and large white borders that float the diamonds.
