Paradox Point QAL - Block 10

Paradox Point QAL - Block 10

Block 10 - yowza! That means we are rounding the corner towards the finish line of our Paradox Point QAL. (Sorry for the metaphor but I just watched the Kentucky Derby!) This is a neat block featuring some stacked flying geese. Block 10 is one that can take on multiple looks depending on the contrast in your main colors and fabric placement. Let's take a look at what our talent sewers did!
Paradox Point QAL - Block 6

Paradox Point QAL - Block 6

Today marks the half-way point of our Paradox Point Quilt Along! We are on our 6th block and we love seeing your creations! If anyone was at QuiltCon a couple weekends ago, they may have seen the Paradox Point quilt Kristy made hanging up in the Hoffman California Fabrics booth! I will see if I can hunt down some photos. Until then, here are our block 6's!

Arcadia Avenue QAL Final Reveal - Take 2

Arcadia Avenue QAL Final Reveal - Take 2

Alrighty! I am back in Colorado and finally sharing the finished batik quilt from our Arcadia Avenue QAL! I love how this version turned out. My Mom used assorted teal, blue and purple batiks for the colors, assorted pinks for the accent, a black batik for the dark and a cream batik for the light.

Drumroll please.... We are revealing the finished Arcadia Avenue quilts this week (and next week) and we are kicking things off with fun rainbow version! I love this version! Each block has it's own color plus a light, medium and dark. It is a fun, colorful and scrappy take on the original.

Arcadia Avenue - Constellation (block 7)

We are a day late but not a dollar short today! I hope everyone enjoyed their long holiday weekend. We sure did! Caught up on some things around the house, did a little sewing and cooked lots of summery food.
Arcadia Avenue - Peacock Feathers (block 2)

Arcadia Avenue - Peacock Feathers (block 2)

Happy Presidents Day and welcome to post 4 of the Arcadia Avenue QAL - where we share our Peacock Feathers blocks! We named this block Peacock Feathers because when you sew two wedges together, they resemble a close up of those pretty feathers!
Sewology Sunday - Getting Perfect Centers

Sewology Sunday - Getting Perfect Centers

Before the football and eating begins we are squeezing in a little Sewology Sunday post to accompany the Arcadia Avenue QAL post tomorrow. We thought it might be nice to share how to get perfect centers on your Arcadia Avenue hexagon blocks before most of you start sewing!
Shivaun Place in Peapods

Shivaun Place in Peapods

When I saw this adorable Peapods fabric from Dear Stella, I knew we had to make a baby quilt with it! We combined the peapods with a yellow-green fabric, a lime green fabric and a white solid to make this crib size quilt of our Shivaun Place pattern. Our smallest size (tall) of Shivaun Place is the perfect size for a baby quilt and only calls for two fat-quarters, an accent and a background.
