Arcadia Avenue QAL Final Reveal - Take 1
Drumroll please.... We are revealing the finished Arcadia Avenue quilts this week (and next week) and we are kicking things off with fun rainbow version! I love this version! Each block has it's own color plus a light, medium and dark. It is a fun, colorful and scrappy take on the original.
For the two background fabrics, we chose two coordinating white fabrics with silver dots in two sizes. We mixed it up a bit and added a grey half triangles to the sides of the quilt. Please excuse Bubba's tongue =]
Our two favorite blocks in this quilt are Fly Away (which we have dubbed the taxi block) and the purple Target Practice block. Who doesn't love fussy-cut taxis and swirling arrows!
My mom (the talented longarm quilter behind Wolf Creek Quilting) quilted a fun grid on this quilt. She quilted three lines a 1/2" apart and then moved 1-1/4" and quilted the three lines again. It creates a fun textured grid! I love grid (the architecture student in me can't help it!) so I am enamored with how this quilting looks =]
We used this Ikea duvet cover for the backing. It has bright warm colors with black and white raindrops which goes with the quilt top and adds a little pop of fun to the back! We bound this quilt in a funky black and white stripe that pulls the black and white accents from the blocks out.
Quick Quilt Stats:
- Made and quilted by: Kristy Wolf
- Quilting: straight vertical and horizontal lines that create a grid
- Pattern: Arcadia Avenue
- Fabric: Scrappy sets of color
- Finished Size: 72" x 90"

What do you think? We kind of love how it turned out! It is so different than the original quilts and the other two we made =] Now your turn! We want to see how your blocks are coming along! We have a Flickr group so you can add your photos there!
