Diamond Detour in On Our Way

Diamond Detour in On Our Way

Primary colors, cars, trucks, race checkers and chunky stripes! Those are the elements that make this Diamond Detour quilt perfect for any little boy's (or girl's) first big kid bed! We originally planned to make the small quilt size, but wanted to include every fabric in the On Our Way fabric line from Riley Blake Designs
Shivaun Place in Peapods

Shivaun Place in Peapods

When I saw this adorable Peapods fabric from Dear Stella, I knew we had to make a baby quilt with it! We combined the peapods with a yellow-green fabric, a lime green fabric and a white solid to make this crib size quilt of our Shivaun Place pattern. Our smallest size (tall) of Shivaun Place is the perfect size for a baby quilt and only calls for two fat-quarters, an accent and a background.
Adding Prints to the Diamond Detour

Adding Prints to the Diamond Detour

The cover quilt of the Diamond Detour is all about solids, so today we are going to focus on adding prints to the quilt. The Diamond Detour is a great way to show off your favorite prints. We have two examples today that are completely different! One features different prints in the pieced diamonds and the other features one busy print as the background.
Introducing Diamond Detour!

Introducing Diamond Detour!

Say hello to the newest pattern of the Sassafras Lane bunch, Diamond Detour! This is our fun new take on our popular Diamond Alley quilt pattern. We made the diamonds smaller and ditched the sashing. Show off your favorite prints, create a cascade of color or feature a single print as the background.

Here is another fun Quilt Market project! We made this Lombard Street quilt to be featured in the Michael Miller Fabrics booth. This quilt features the Crayon Box Basics line and we love how it turned out! The quilt finished 47” x 54” - the perfect size for a throw or large wall hanging.

Euclid Avenue in Houndstooth & Friends

One of the quilts we had hanging in the Michael Miller Fabrics booth was this fun Euclid Avenue. Our good friend and pattern tester, Juli Kieny made and quilted this version and it turned out great! This quilt features Houndstooth & Friends in the Lagoon color story and finished 56" x 72".

I officially declare this Michael Miller week here on the Sass blog. We have four projects made up in Michael Miller fabrics to share with you and we are kicking it off with this Churndash Court. We made this version of our Churndash Court pattern with assorted Kiss Dots. I love how this one turned out! It glows! The quilt finishes 36" x 36"; the perfect size for a wall-hanging or baby quilt.
Churndash Court in Zig Zags

Churndash Court in Zig Zags

We have one last project from the Dear Stella Design booth at Quilt Market to share. This is our Churndash Court made in Zig Zags. We used the entire line of zig zags except white, gray, black and navy. We added a few Confetti Dots to fill in the color: cantaloupe, lime and delft. The quilt finishes 36" x 36"; the perfect size for a wall-hanging or baby quilt.

Taking photos of our finished projects is very high on my "Why I Love My Job" list. In fact I should make an actual list someday! (note to self) I try to find new places and spots to take photos, but usually they are in my house or front yard.

Sewology Sunday - Easy Quilt Label

Hello lovelies. I know it is pretty late in the day for a Sewology Sunday... Sorry! Better late than never, right? I know I promised a mitered corners tutorial, and I still plan to do one.
