Say hello to the newest pattern of the Sassafras Lane bunch, Diamond Detour! This is our fun new take on our popular Diamond Alley quilt pattern. We made the diamonds smaller and ditched the sashing. Show off your favorite prints, create a cascade of color or feature a single print as the background.
Fall Quilt Market Sneak Peek
I am writing this blog post from an uncomfortable airplane seat somewhere over Nevada or Utah. You know what that means! The Sass girls will both be back in the Orange Studio getting ready for Quilt Market. We will be previewing 4 new patterns in Houston and can't wait to share them with you! Quiltmaker does this really neat issue twice a year called 'Quilts from Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks'. I have a quilt featured in this upcoming Spring '14 issue. It is based on my Formation block that was featured in 100 Blocks, Volume 8. Below is the block, and you can read all about it here!
New Pattern Sneak Peek & A Birthday Gift
So, today is my birthday and 22 years ago I received the best gift you could think of, a little sister. Sharing a birthday had it's rough patches through our middle-school days, but now I couldn't be happier!

We have some amazing friends. They are always there to help! Whether we need proof-readers (always!), patterns tested or an actual quilt made, someone is always there! We bit off a lot for our first Market and a few friends offered to help us make some quilts we promised.
The things we endure for a good photo!
We always have a blast on our photo-shoots. This is one of the things I will miss the most when we are separated by states. Today was a little challenging though! You may have seen on the news that Colorado is getting a little extra rain then normal (to put it lightly!).
