Triangles 101

Triangles 101

Triangles, love em or hate em? We hear all the time that people love the look of triangles but are afraid to dip their toes into this geometric genre of quilt patterns. We love triangles and use them to make other shape such as diamonds and hexagons. Let’s break down triangles and see if we can get you excited about giving them a try or teach those experienced trianglers (I made up that word!) a new trick or two.

Argyle - Free Summer Block Party Pattern

Argyle - Free Summer Block Party Pattern

Summer, summer, summertime! Welcome to my day on the Summer Block Party hosted by fabric.com

When I originally sketched up my block for this shindig, I wasn't thinking anything to do with argyle. I was thinking mountains, trees and reflection - but then came the color scheme! It is always fun to see digital quilt mockup come to life! This is the Prism Parkway I mocked up for Moda in Basic Grey's latest line, Saturday Morning! It is a fun line with text, florals, triangles and people toting about! I arranged the fabrics gradating in color order from red to black to blue to green to gold, diagonally down the quilt on a light grunge background.

Free Patchwork Pineapple Mini Quilt Pattern

Over a year ago, we made a mini pineapple quilt based on a pillow we saw on Instagram and shared the pattern with Dear Stella Fabrics. We reduced the size of the pieces and made a mini quilt that finishes 8-1/2" x 11-1/2". Here is a step-by-step tutorial to make one of your very own!
