Diamond Detour in Little Monsters
We made this fun scrappy version Diamond Detour with Andover Fabrics Little Monsters line. The line had lots of fun little critters like frogs, monsters, robots, numbers, snails, soccer balls, skulls and a neat stripe! We wanted to feature all the fabrics, so we changed up the pattern a little. We used the main prints as the background and put them into diagonal rows. Each diagonal row also had a different colored star print for the diamonds. It is a little bit busier than our other quilts, but we still love it! This quilt hung the Andover Fabrics booth at Quilt Market in Houston.
There is one diamond that is facing the wrong direction.... whoops! Can you spot it? The prints were arranged from light to dark which helps give the quilt a little bit of continuity with all the busy prints!

In true Sass fashion, we made a quilt label using our "easy no hand-sewing technique". We used a couple scraps from the quilt top and a solid white. We bound the quilt in the light grey star fabric and it has a slightly calming effect.
We love how this quilt turned out - even if it is a little busy. The Diamond Detour pattern is available in PDF and paper form. If you make this or any other Sassafras Lane projects, we would love to see them! Send us photos or post them to our Flickr group. Thanks for stopping by!
