Introducing Mini Churndash Court

Introducing Mini Churndash Court

Mini Churndash Court pattern has been a long time coming. I made a mini version of our original Churndash Court years ago during my two-week churndash obsession state. I had just been introduced to the idea of mini quilts and couldn't get the idea of a mini churndash out of my head! So, I created this rainbow version with a white churndash.
Mini and Sassy

Mini and Sassy

We have finally jumped on the train heading for Mini Quilt-ville. I have always loved mini quilts and have had a gallery wall in every place I've lived, but I dragged my feet on patterning some Sass minis. Why? I am not completely sure, but I knew if I did them, I wanted to make them special. We launched 6 mini patterns at Fall Market.
Lantern Lane Color Option

Lantern Lane Color Option

We always make each quilt pattern at least twice. This was the second version of Lantern Lane we made. Nine warm solids ranging from yellow to a dark burgundy form the lanterns and assorted low volume fabrics fill in the background.
Introducing Lantern Lane!

Introducing Lantern Lane!

Lantern Lane was one of the new patterns we introduced at Quilt Market in Houston. I designed this pattern after I was mesmerized by the lanterns hanging in the streets in Chinatown in San Francisco. I loved the way they radiated against the dark night sky. I woke up the next morning, sketched a quick idea and started sewing!
Empire Place in Cotton Couture

Empire Place in Cotton Couture

Last but certainly not least is the Empire Place quilt I made using solids and black & white prints. I used Michael Miller's extensive line of Cotton Couture solids and assorted Black & White prints to make this quilt and I love how it turned out! I may have even fussy-cut some little elephants for the center of the Accent blocks.
Empire Place in Tonga Batiks

Empire Place in Tonga Batiks

We are 2/3rds of the way through our Empire Place quilts! I hope you are still excited to see the next two! Today we are sharing this jewel-toned beauty! Our good friend Gitte Hopkins made this quilt with Timeless Treasures' Tonga Java Blender batiks. I absolutely love this version, especially the little pop of lime that shows up in each block!
Empire Place in Kaffe

Empire Place in Kaffe

We are cruising right along! Next up on our parade of Empire Place quilts is this gorgeous version made up in assorted Kaffe Fassett prints and wovens. We love Kaffe and had the crazy idea to chop up his large scale prints and use them in these little paper-piecing sections.
Empire Place in Me+You Batiks

Empire Place in Me+You Batiks

We are well on our way with Empire Place week! Today we are sharing this striking version made with Hoffman California's new branch of modern batiks, Me+You. They are a fresh new take on batiks and they have hand dyed solids! We couldn't resist and Kristy made an Empire Place with them!
Shelby Satchel in Seaworthy

Shelby Satchel in Seaworthy

We have another project that appeared in the Dear Stella Design booth at Quilt Market to share with you! This is the Shelby Satchel bag made with the Seaworthy fabric line designed by Jack and Lulu. The bag finishes 11.5 inches wide, 9 inches tall and 2 inches deep. This is another fun version with a novelty print on the flap.
Shelby Satchel in Remix & Sale Announcement!

Shelby Satchel in Remix & Sale Announcement!

We made another Shelby Satchel in Ann Kelle's Remix fabric collection. We chose a black & white triangle print for the flap, a white dot on lime for the bag body and an aqua oval print for the accent! I love working Kelle's fabrics.
