Arcadia Avenue - Peacock Feathers (block 2)

Happy Presidents Day and welcome to post 4 of the Arcadia Avenue QAL - where we share our Peacock Feathers blocks! We named this block Peacock Feathers because when you sew two wedges together, they resemble a close up of those pretty feathers!

Hey Everyone! It has been a blast seeing all the different fabric pulls you are coming up with. If you haven't shared your fabrics yet, don't fret! We still would love to see them, so add them to our Flickr group. Today is more of an information day, but then next time the sewing begins =]
Arcadia Avenue QAL - Choosing Fabrics

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the first post of our Arcadia Avenue Quilt Along. Today we are going to choose fabric! This is one of my favorite parts of quilting. I try to picture a pattern in as many different color combos as possible!
Arcadia Avenue Pillow Tutorial!

Arcadia Avenue Pillow Tutorial!

Right before Quilt Market, the great girls over at Dear Stella asked us to make a few pillows to show off the blocks of our Arcadia Avenue pattern. We decided to make some 3D hexagon pillows. We made a total of 11 extra blocks that we turned into pillows!

Today we are going to share the beautiful version of Arcadia Avenue that my grandma, MaryEllen Laughary, made! She used her bountiful stash of Kaffe Fassett shot cottons, plaids and stripes to paper-piece the blocks.
Fall Quilt Market Sneak Peek

Fall Quilt Market Sneak Peek

I am writing this blog post from an uncomfortable airplane seat somewhere over Nevada or Utah. You know what that means! The Sass girls will both be back in the Orange Studio getting ready for Quilt Market. We will be previewing 4 new patterns in Houston and can't wait to share them with you! Here is a little sneak peek of what we have been up to!
Mulholland Drive in Cockateil

Mulholland Drive in Cockateil

We have another fun Quilt Market project to hare with you today! We made this Mulholland Drive quilt to be featured in the Hoffman California Fabrics booth. This quilt features Cockatiel batiks and we absolutely love how it turned out; it is so different from any of our other versions! The quilt finished 52” x 70” - the perfect size to throw over your couch.
