We love batiks. In fact, we have quite a large stash collection of them! So, we decided to make a version of the Diamond Detour in our favorite batik color combination. We pulled lime, purple, blue and turquoise printed batiks for the pieced diamonds and a gorgeous beige bubble print for the background.

Meet George the bear, one of the newest additions to the Zoey's Zoo bunch! My Mom made and quilted this adorable bear for our neighbor's newest grandson. My mom used two tone-on-tone browns for the bear, a turquoise chevron for the background, a lime for the churndash, a grey dot for the background and assorted lime, aqua and teal scraps for behind the letters.

Gitte's Atlantic Avenue

The second best part of my business partner / Mom being a longarm quilter, is that she gets Sassafras Lane quilts in her queue from time to time! (The best part being I have my own personal longarm quilter =] ) She recently sent me photos of this gorgeous Atlantic Avenue quilt made by the talented Gitte Hopkins.

Mulholland Drive in Greens, Teals and Blues

A few days before we left for Quilt Market in Pittsburgh, we decided to make another version of our Mulholland Drive quilt pattern. We went in a completely opposite direction of the cover quilt and started pulling lime, teal, aqua and blue fabrics and put them on a stark white background.
Elsie Stone's Diamond Alley Quilt

Elsie Stone's Diamond Alley Quilt

Elsie Stone sent us pictures of her gorgeous Diamond Alley quilt and we had to share them! She used assorted red fabrics for the diamonds, ranging from light pink to dark maroon, and a crisp white for the background. She made the Diamond Alley quilt pattern larger by adding 2 more vertical rows, making a total of 39 diamonds, and large white borders that float the diamonds.
