Mini Mondays - "Mini" Empire Place

This week in our Mini Monday Series features our Empire Place quilt pattern.

Yup, you read that right! No, we didn’t make all those intricate paper-pieced blocks super small. Instead we picked one block to make into a mini! These blocks are fun to make but some find the idea of the entire block daunting. Solution - make one or two blocks as individual projects. Quilt-It Modern Blog Tour

Empire Place in Cotton Couture

Last but certainly not least is the Empire Place quilt I made using solids and black & white prints. I used Michael Miller's extensive line of Cotton Couture solids and assorted Black & White prints to make this quilt and I love how it turned out! I may have even fussy-cut some little elephants for the center of the Accent blocks.

Empire Place in Tonga Batiks

We are 2/3rds of the way through our Empire Place quilts! I hope you are still excited to see the next two! Today we are sharing this jewel-toned beauty! Our good friend Gitte Hopkins made this quilt with Timeless Treasures' Tonga Java Blender batiks. I absolutely love this version, especially the little pop of lime that shows up in each block!

Empire Place in Kaffe

We are cruising right along! Next up on our parade of Empire Place quilts is this gorgeous version made up in assorted Kaffe Fassett prints and wovens. We love Kaffe and had the crazy idea to chop up his large scale prints and use them in these little paper-piecing sections.
