Free 'Pieces of My Heart Quilt' Pattern
It is officially February and even though I am not a big Valentines Day girl, I had an idea for a simple heart pattern. It is a quick project and adds a little love to any decor.
Main Street Quilt Sew and Tell
Today, I would like to share Annette Matthies' Main Street quilt! She took our Mystery Class back in 2012 when we taught this one. Surprisingly she chose colors very similar to our cover quilt! She chose a turquoise for the accent color instead of a dark grey and I love how it looks.
Working on Big Projects in Small(er) Spaces
2014 is officially here, and with it came a few deadlines! First up, a fun quilt I designed that will appear in Quiltmaker this Spring. It is a twin size quilt and the first large project I have worked on in this new home, so I thought I would share some tips for making large projects in small spaces.
Bye Bye 2013, Hello 2014!
I had a good feeling about 2013 and it did not let me down! It was a crazy, busy, beautiful and adventurous year. Here are some of our favorites from 2013!
Prism Parkway
Quiltmaker Magazine has a theme to each of their issues. Jan/Feb '14 issue's theme was Color. We all know I love color. So I jumped on the opportunity to create something colorful! I also love geometry. For this quilt, I took an equilateral triangle, and cut it into 6 equal pieces.
Blogger's Quilt Festival: Scrappy Quilt Entry
Twice a year Amy, of Amy's Creative Side, hosts a Blogger's Quilt Festival over the time for Quilt Market. It has become a huge quilt show online. I love to peruse all the different categories and see all the amazing quilts out there.
Bourbon Street... Batik Style!
Every time we teach a Mystery Class, my mom and I each make a version of the quilt. (See mine here) This beauty is my Mom's Bourbon Street quilt. I am not certain... but I am pretty sure we broke a few laws taking these shots!
Bourbon Street in Confetti Dots
Taking photos of our finished projects is very high on my "Why I Love My Job" list. In fact I should make an actual list someday! (note to self) I try to find new places and spots to take photos, but usually they are in my house or front yard.
Cooper Carry-All in Shadowland II
Here is another project we made for Quilt Market in Houston! This is our Cooper Carry-All tote bag made up in Shadowland II from Kona Bay Fabrics. These prints are gorgeous and so easy to work with! We are making a Diamond Alley quilt in these too! Photos to come later =]
Introducing Bourbon Street!
This is one of our "long-time coming" patterns. We taught this quilt as a Mystery Class back in February.... yes, February. But patterns are now finally available!! Woo hoo! It is a good feeling to get something posted you have been working on forever!
