✨ Foundation 2 Launch Party: Fun Projects from Fabulous Makers ✨

✨ Foundation 2 Launch Party: Fun Projects from Fabulous Makers ✨

It’s that time again! Designing fabric is a mix of sketches, swatches, and planning—but the real magic? Hands down, seeing what others create with it. Every time I dream up a line, I picture it in our Sass patterns, both old favorites and new designs. That’s always fun… but nothing compares to watching quilters and makers spin the prints into something uniquely theirs.

Foundation 2 in Action: Quilts You’ll Want to Make!

Foundation 2 in Action: Quilts You’ll Want to Make!

Like all your favorite blog posts written by your’s truly, this one contains few words and many pictures. Every time we design a new fabric line we make a look book full of ideas how to use said fabric line and when the sample yardage of Foundation 2 arrived, we dove right in—snipping, piecing and stitching up all the bright prints, soothing neutrals and bold geometrics. This collection really shines when it’s in motion, so we knew we had to make a mix of projects to show you just how versatile it is. From big statement projects to intricate foundation paper-pieced quilts, we stitched it all—and mocked up what we didn’t have time to make.

Let’s take a looksie at the projects we made and mocked up featuring Foundation 2!

Karma Court

Boot Tapping Boulevard

Perpetual Plaza

Euclid Avenue

Cadence Court

Wild Moose Chase

Children’s Overall UpCycled Dress

We planned to write a full tutorial for this and someday still might, but it was pretty simple! JoJo had outgrown several pairs of overalls because she was too tall, so we cut off the bottoms from the waist down, made a strip pieced bottom and gathered one end, sewed it to the overall’s top and voila! Now JoJo has a colorful little dress to wear all year round.

And that’s just the beginning! You know we have more plans and ideas scribbled down. Foundation 2 is one of those collections that makes you want to keep sewing—whether you’re building a bold quilt top, adding a pop of color to your next pouch, or mixing in a few neutrals to balance your stash. We can’t wait to see what you dream up with it. Be sure to tag us so we can cheer you on and share your makes!

Introducing Mini Euclid Avenue

Introducing Mini Euclid Avenue

Euclid Avenue is one of our patterns that was influenced by some tile we spotted in an old hotel in Boston and one we really wanted to make into a mini quilt when we launched a line of mini quilt patterns. It is a fun design to play with scale, color and contrasts. We decided to make this Mini Euclid Avenue version in the same colors as the original, but without prints, since the pieces are pretty small!
