Introducing Foundation 2 — the sequel you’ve been waiting for!

Hello friends! I am so excited to finally share Foundation 2, my newest fabric collection with Windham Fabrics. If you loved Foundation before, I think you’ll adore this follow-up just as much (maybe more 😉).

The Inspiration

After Foundation came out, I kept hearing from makers how perfect the mix of color + neutrals + architectural prints was for so many kinds of projects. (This was great for my ego, by the way!) So, I kept sketching, exploring, dreaming of ways to lean into that feeling: the boldness, the structure, the contrast.

So Foundation 2 started with the question: Can I push the colors even more, while still creating a full spectrum, low-volume prints, versatile neutrals and patterns that give shape and motion? What if the prints could be more radiant, richer, yet still incredibly usable — for quilt backgrounds, accents, whole quilts, garment touches, home decor and more?

The Drawings

Just like with the original Foundation fabric line, this line was pulled directly from my sketch book. Any time I a see an interesting shape or repeat out and about in the world, I love to sketch it out. I picked out 12 designs that have some variety of scale and density to give Foundation 2 interest and flow!

The Prints

Each of the 12 designs has two colors (and some have a third) from across the color wheel. For example, the Patchwork design has a yellow and a purple print, plus a bonus low volume version! 

The Bundles

Foundation 2 fabric bundles will ship next month and are now available to pre-order. We are waiting anxiously to get these bad boys out to you guys! Looking for yardage? Check with your local quilt shop!
