Paradox Point QAL - Block 11

Welp, I've done it again. Every year after Quilt Market my blogging goals deteriorate quickly! But, I am back on it with the second the last block of our Paradox Point QAL. Alayna is still very behind, but maybe next week when she is on summer break, she will catch up! But, the other three ladies have some beautiful blocks to share!

Kristy's Block:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 11

The combination of the black and white prints with the mint solid is swoon worthy! She paired a busier black and white chevron print with a more solid white on black print to tone down the block. Adding the kick of mint and light grey background makes this an absolutely beautiful block.

Juli's Block:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 11

The color of the week for Juli is fuchsia! This bright block pairs an adorable pink starfish print and a purple star print together. Add in a pop of solid black for the accent and the newsprint background and we have another great block to add to Juli's spectrum.

MaryEllen's Block:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 11

This is my favorite block of MaryEllen's compilation! She combined a light text print and a light speckle print with a bright red. This combination on the dark background makes for an absolutely stunning block! I can't wait to see her blocks come together.

Block 11 Design Options:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 11

  1. Color Crazy - The triangles in triangles in triangles make this a fun block to play with stripes, fussy cutting and prints.
  2. Turn Down the Volume - This would be the perfect block to explore contrast with low volume prints, testing value and density.
  3. Holi-Daze - I have Halloween on the mind! This block features traditional orange and black with a pop of green and purple!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Today's winner is Michelle Burt! She is just getting started and shared her first two blocks on Instagram. She is using the Grunge fabrics from Moda and I can't wait to see how it progresses! Beautiful work Nancy!

Now your turn! We want to see how your blocks turn out. We have started a Flickr group so you can add your photos there. You can also tag photos on Instagram with #ParadoxPointQAL! We will pick another winner for a small giveaway from everyone who participates.

First time here, no problem - it is never too late to join! Read up on the previous posts here, grab a book and begin when it works for you. Thanks for stopping by and don't be shy with any questions and comments!

Thanks for including my picture! I totally just saw your post and am going back and reading all the blog posts. My mom and a friend of ours and I are all doing them together. We love this pattern and can’t wait to do your Cadence Court when it comes out! =)
