Introducing Piccadilly Circle!
Dig into your scrap bins and start creating this scrappy paper-pieced circle quilt! This is a great pattern for beginners trying to learn new quilting techniques and experienced quilters alike. Basic foundations, easy curved piecing and a little bit of applique to boot! We made this version with 12 completely scrappy circles. We divided our scraps into: Magentas, Reds, Rusts, Oranges, Yellows, Green, Limes, Turquoises, Blues, Periwinkles, Purples and Pinks. The Accent fabric is a crisp White and the two Backgrounds are slightly different Charcoal Grays.
This is the pile of wedges before they were sewn into wedges.
These next two photos were taken at Shelly's Garden Country. I will have a blog post later this week on the fun photo shoot we had at this nursery.
We used some version of this photo below for the cover of Piccadilly Circle.
With a little photoshop and cropping we have our cover! The blue background really lets all the colors in the quilt pop!
Also coming this weekend, a post showing two different versions of the Piccadilly Circle pattern. One is beachy and the other holiday themed.
This quilt was first published in Quiltmaker July/August '13. If you make this pattern or any other of our Sassafras Lane Designs patterns, send us an email! We would love to feature you and the quilt on here!
