Introducing the Lombard Street quilt!

Lombard Street is a modern, scrappy and fun paper-piecing quilt pattern. This quilt is a fun excuse to go through all your fabric scraps and use all those little pieces you have been saving forever! The pattern includes detailed and colored diagrams explaining the paper-piecing technique and foundations for three different size quilts.

Notice the zigzags that are formed between the colored scraps? That is our favorite part! The quilt was named after the famous Lombard Street in San Francisco. The one that zigs and zags down a very steep hill!

For the cover quilt, we gathered 100 different bright and colorful fabric scraps and arranged them in color order on solid white background. This quilt is the Grande size. Here it is:

We had a ton of fun shooting this quilt. We tried a few set-ups. Some different textured walls and a tree or two. We then stumbled upon this old orange Ford truck. We fell in love! It had a prefect little grill on the front to drape the quilt over. It reminded me of the old truck from the Cars movie, Mater.

We took quite a few photos here! We ended up using a shot at a slight angle and cropped in a bit for the cover. Here it is! It is at the printers right now and should be finished next week! =]

If paper-piecing isn't really your thing, or you have never attempted it before, trust me, it is super easy!! We also have a super awesome photo tutorial here to help!

If you make this pattern or any other of our Sassafras Lane Designs patterns, send us an email! (contact@sassafras-lane.com) We would love to feature you and the purse or quilt on here!
