Paradox Point QAL - Block 7
Spring has sprung! This is one of my favorite times of the year. It is finally warm enough to dust off those shorts and frolic outdoors before it gets hot! I just spent the weekend camping and hiking around Moab, so I am feeling refreshed and invigorated creatively. This week is pattern writing week, so stay tuned for some new projects on the horizon. But, until then, let's catch up with the beautiful Paradox Point QAL blocks!
Kristy's Block:
Blue seems to be a theme among the beautiful block 7s! Kristy combined a black triangle print and a chevron white on black print with a bright blue accent. This blue Me+You solid is one of my favorite colors - it is so rich and striking. All these prints and colors of course look great on the light grey background!
Juli's Block:
Juli's block is super Springy! She combined two blue prints that scream Spring. One print features little bunnies and flowers! These prints paired with the solid black on the news print background makes for another adorable block! I can't wait to see all of her blocks together.
MaryEllen's Block:
Low volume quilts hold a special place in my heart and MaryEllen's is helping the cause! She combined two ditzy light prints with a light blue tone-on-tone to create a stunning block 7! She is cruising along and I can't wait to see how the rest of the blocks turn out.
Alayna is still out and about, but next time I visit, I will wrangle her into the sewing room!
Block 7 Design Options:
- Color Crazy - The stripes in this block opens the door for all sorts of opportunities. Fussy cut your favorite fabrics and dig into those stripes.
- Turn Down the Volume - Low volume stripes always add a little extra va va voom to blocks and they would look great in a block 7.
- Holi-Daze - The stripes in this block reminded me of bumblebees, so I made a Spring block with yellow and black colors with a honeycomb background.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
Keeping up with our blue Block 7 theme, we have a new winner this week who is cruising through their Paradox Point blocks! Jenny Vogel & Kathy Fictorie of stitchstudiooc, are making the Paradox Point quilt and have kits available in their store!
Now your turn - keep sharing those photos folks! We want to see how your blocks turn out. We have started a Flickr group so you can add your photos there. You can also tag photos on Instagram with #ParadoxPointQAL! We will pick another winner for a small giveaway from everyone who participates.
