Paradox Point QAL - Block 12
We took a little break from the Paradox Point QAL, but we are back now with the last block! This last block is a little bit of an illusion. The arrow is made up of four triangles that are made up of triangles inside of triangles! This is a little bit of an inception block!
Kristy's Block
Black, white and gold are the stars in Kristy's block this time around. The two main prints are a black with white triangles and a white with a tribal design. She paired these with a solid gold for the accent and a light grey dot print for the background.
Juli's Block
You know I love Juli's last block! She paired a large orange-on-orange polka dot with a bright heart print to make a super cheerful block! The oranges really pop off the newsprint background.
MaryEllen's Block
MaryEllen's last low volume block is a stunner! She grouped two low volume prints, one a little creamier than the other, with a blue accent and a dark tone-on-tone background. I love how the blue pops from this block.
Alayna's Block
The up side to me slacking on the blogging front, is that Alayna had time to catch up! She didn't get a flat shot of her block but her she is cheesing it up in the studio. Her bright prints make her block 12 a stunner! She mixed in a wavy pink stripe with a magenta polka dot with her background and accent.
Block 12 Design Options
- Color Crazy - This block has a snails trail look to it and can be made completely scrappy with your favorite fabrics!
- Turn Down the Volume - For block 12, if using low volumes, I'd recommend picking ones that have a little more contrast.
- Holi-Daze - I am back to Christmas! Switch the locations of the colors in the center triangle to create a whole different look!
Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
Today's winner is Loide Wasmund! She is using the Grunge fabrics from Moda and I can't wait to see how it progresses! Here is her block 3 made up in golds.
Now your turn! We want to see how your blocks and quilts turn out. We have started a Flickr group so you can add your photos there. You can also tag photos on Instagram with #ParadoxPointQAL!
