Our cover Focus Freeway quilt was made straight from my stash! I pulled assorted rainbow scraps for the aperture, a black scallop print for the camera body, two grays for the camera accents and a white polka dot for the background.
We photographed our cover quilt outside of a brewery in Woodinville, WA. The stacked empty kegs were kind of an odd background, but I love how they turned out! The gray with pops of color creates some interest but doesn't distract you from the camera.
In true Sassafras Lane fashion, we made a few Focus Freeway quilts. My big brother turned 30 this year and I wanted to make him something special for his condo. Instead of rainbow scraps for the aperture, I used 8 different red-orange prints.
I love how it turned out! This quilt now hangs above his wine fridges in his dining area! Changing out the scrappy center for a single color changes the entire look of the quilt!
We made another scrappy spectrum version of Focus Freeway quilt, this time with Rae Ritchie's new Chroma Basics for Dear Stella. These rich colors made a beautiful version.
We separated the colors into 8 color ways for the scrappy aperture. The colors sit on the black triangle print and look great!
And last but not least is this fun and completely different version we made up in Riley Blake's Yes Please fabric line. This line is full of rose gold fabrics in cute prints with a little shine!
The Focus Freeway pattern is available in PDF and paper. If you make this quilt or any other Sassafras Lane project, we would love to see it! Send us photos, post them to our Flickr group or use our #sassafraslane hashtag on Instagram!

I am wondering about the downloadable pattern. How are the instructions for the curves on the sides of the camera. Does the paper pattern include a full size template for the camera?

My pattern says to come to this site to download the 22” circle. Where do I find it?
