Andover Mini Quilts

You all know that we have caught the mini quilt fever that has been going around for the last few years! These minis are almost a year old - I am working on this timely blogging thing still! But, hey, better late then never. Andover sent us a cultivated bundle of beautiful warm Alison Glass and Lizzy House fabrics. We then created these two minis!

Mini Arcadia Avenue

After seeing all the Arcadia Avenue single block mini quilts popping up in mini quilt swaps on Instagram, we wanted to make our own! We arranged the fabrics in a gradating fashion, starting with a chartreuse and blending to a red. We added in pops of white and grey prints to brighten up the quilt.

This bright hexagonal quilt will look fabulous in the center of a dining table all year long - but these bright colors are having me dreaming of warm weather and Spring blooms. Kristy quilted this mini quilt with straight lines varying 1/8" to 1/2" apart in a white thread.

Mini Firelights Lane

For our second mini quilt, we made up a Mini Firelights Lane. It is an ideal pattern for gradating color schemes. We arranged seven of the fabrics to create a fun "fire" effect. We started with the chartreuse at the bottom and added yellow, orange, coral and reds. We used a white print for the background and a grey for the binding.

This is one of my favorite projects to make. There are so many beautiful combinations that would look amazing in this pattern. Kristy quilted this mini at the same time as the other, so the vertical lines are approximately 1/8" to 1/2" apart as well!

If you make either of these or any other Sassafras Lane project, we would love to see it! Send us photos, post them to our Flickr group or use our #sassafraslane hashtag on Instagram!

How do I get the free pear pattern? I clicked on the image and 2 mini quilts appeared, but they are more geometric designs.
Thanks
