Canyon Boulevard in Haiku
When I saw snippets of Monaluna's new fabric line, Haiku, I swooned a little! It has watercolored flowers that give the line a batik look with pops of glitzy gold accents. The color scheme of pale pink, rich eggplant, soft grey-blue and olive green is to die for! We made our Canyon Boulevard with Haiku and it has become one of my favorite quilts!
Using all eight fabrics we created a diagonal design across the quilt. One of my favorite details of this quilt pattern is the zigzag binding on the top and bottom! But if that isn't up your alley there is a design option for straight edges.
I love this shot! You can see the light shining through the quilting holes and you can see the backing print through the natural white solid patches. My Mom quilted the Canyon Boulevard with large funky flowers and swirling feathers. Check out her amazing quilting here.
I had a lot fun photographing this quilt in my parents front yard. They have an Aspen tree that has a perfect quilt-photographing branch. The green leaves bring out the vibrancy of the fabrics. It makes me miss the crisp Spring air and blooming trees.
