The Daily Duffle in Shaman
Today we are going to share our 'manly' version of the Daily Duffle bag that made an appearance in the Westminster Fibers booth at Quilt Market in Houston. We made this duffle with Parson Gray's new Shaman fabric line for FreeSpirit Fabrics.
We made this version with a Designer Bundle of 2 1/2" wide precut strips for the outside of the bag, a blue arrow print for the bag body and the green rippling print for the accent and lining.
I love the large prints and tone-on-tones in this line! It has everything - rippling circles, geometric hexagons, stars, rectangles, arrows and more. The combination of olive greens, burnt oranges and gray blues is perfect men and women. We found gray zippers that blend nicely with the fabrics.
Duffle Stats:
- Pattern: The Daily Duffle
- Fabric: Shaman by Parson Gray for FreeSpirit Fabrics
- Finished Size: 18" wide, 10" tall and 10" deep
- Techniques: Straight sewing and piping (photo tutorial here)
- My Favorite Part: The unexpected, but awesome color combination!
Thank you to FreeSpirit for sending us fabric to play with! The Daily Duffle pattern is available here in PDF and paper form and hardware kits are available here. If you make this or any other Sassafras Lane pattern, we would love to see it! Monday we will be officially introducing our Wynkoop Court pattern, so pop back over.
