Scrappy Orange Daily Duffle
We have another Daily Duffle bag we want to share with you! We coined this bag the Sassafras Lane duffle. We made it from our large stash of orange scraps. We cut them into 2 1/2" strips and pretended they were a jelly-roll, a very orange jelly-roll! We paired the orange scraps with a black and white zigzag and I absolutely LOVE the result!
We found the perfect colored zipper for the bag top. We like to call this the Sass Orange =] It matches the orange walls of our studio. Isn't it pretty!
The green grass covered with yellow leaves scattered about made a great backdrop for this bright bag. Unfortunately I am not tall enough to not be in the photo. Please ignore me stepping on my tippy toes!
Here is a close up of the handles -- I fussy cut the zigzag fabric so the points would go down the center of the handles. We used 18 different orange fabrics... because 9 just wasn't enough and one great orange diamond print for the lining!
Duffle Stats:
- Pattern: The Daily Duffle
- Fabric: Orange-tastic scraps!
- Finished Size: 18" wide, 10" tall and 10" deep
- Techniques: Straight sewing and piping (photo tutorial here)
- My Favorite Part: The contrast of the black and white zigzag against the oranges.
I can't wait to use this bag for my weekend trips! The Daily Duffle pattern is available here in PDF and paper form and hardware kits are available here. If you make this or any other Sassafras Lane pattern, we would love to see it! Be sure to stop back by this weekend another version of the Daily Duffle. Thanks for stopping by =] Happy Sewing!
