30 Quilts for 30 Years - Bloghop & Giveaway

Robert Kaufman is celebrating it's Kona Cotton 30th Anniversary the entire month of November with 30 different designers, 30 quilts and a 30 day blog hop. Each day, one of the 30 quilt designers featured in the 30 Quilts for 30 Years Lookbook, will share their Kona quilt and today is our day! We will share some fun details of our Diamond Detour quilt and have a giveaway!

New Pattern - Diamond Detour

We were really excited when Nichole from Robert Kaufman contacted us early this summer to see if we would like to design a quilt for the Kona Cotton Lookbook. We love deadlines, and this was the perfect motivation to get a quilt pattern finished before the week of Quilt Market!

Robert Kaufman's 30 Quilts for 30 Years

These smaller diamonds were the perfect way to display a plethora of our favorite Kona Cotton colors. Choosing from 303 colors was not any easy feat, but we finally settled on bright saturated colors on a dark background. We used Cerise, Pomegranate, Honeysuckle, Watermelon, Tangerine, Torch, School Bus, Sunny, Corn Yellow, Citrus, Wasabi, Chartreuse, Parrot, Sour Apple, Cypress, Breakers, Lagoon, Copen, Lavender, Violet and Geranium for the diamonds and Pepper for the background.

The Diamond Detour quilt pattern is available here in PDF and paper formats.

New Pattern - Diamond Detour

There are so many gorgeous quilts in this group, but one of my favorites is North and South designed by Nichole Ramirez! The combination of triangles, zigzags and colors is to die for!

Now for the giveaway. One lucky winner will receive a Diamond Detour pattern and a Summer '13 charm pack! To enter, just leave a comment on this post with your favorite Kona color to be entered to win! My favorite is Wasabi! Entry is open for 24 hours and will close tomorrow at 12:00 AM US mountain standard time.

What a beautiful modern quilt design. Total #quiltlove.

I’ve used Kona Cotton since it was lst released and love it all. Snow, White and Ash are the colors I use the most, but I love Tomato, Papaya, Cyan, Torch, and so many other colors. I even made a Kingsize Hawaiian quilt with Periwinkle (blue) so you could probably say I love all Kona Cotton colors.
