30 Quilts for 30 Years - Bloghop & Giveaway
Robert Kaufman is celebrating it's Kona Cotton 30th Anniversary the entire month of November with 30 different designers, 30 quilts and a 30 day blog hop. Each day, one of the 30 quilt designers featured in the 30 Quilts for 30 Years Lookbook, will share their Kona quilt and today is our day! We will share some fun details of our Diamond Detour quilt and have a giveaway!
We were really excited when Nichole from Robert Kaufman contacted us early this summer to see if we would like to design a quilt for the Kona Cotton Lookbook. We love deadlines, and this was the perfect motivation to get a quilt pattern finished before the week of Quilt Market!
These smaller diamonds were the perfect way to display a plethora of our favorite Kona Cotton colors. Choosing from 303 colors was not any easy feat, but we finally settled on bright saturated colors on a dark background. We used Cerise, Pomegranate, Honeysuckle, Watermelon, Tangerine, Torch, School Bus, Sunny, Corn Yellow, Citrus, Wasabi, Chartreuse, Parrot, Sour Apple, Cypress, Breakers, Lagoon, Copen, Lavender, Violet and Geranium for the diamonds and Pepper for the background.
The Diamond Detour quilt pattern is available here in PDF and paper formats.
There are so many gorgeous quilts in this group, but one of my favorites is North and South designed by Nichole Ramirez! The combination of triangles, zigzags and colors is to die for!
Now for the giveaway. One lucky winner will receive a Diamond Detour pattern and a Summer '13 charm pack! To enter, just leave a comment on this post with your favorite Kona color to be entered to win! My favorite is Wasabi! Entry is open for 24 hours and will close tomorrow at 12:00 AM US mountain standard time.

Love chartruese and citrus. Your quilt is beautiful. The solid colors against the black are so vivid. Haven’t decided yet whose quilt I like best….don’t know if that’s possible since they are all so different and beautiful.

Looking at the solids like this always reminds me of the glass jars holding the colorful jelly beans at the General Store at Knotts Berry Farm when I was a kid! Choose a favorite color? VEry hard to do, but I guess the blues are currently in my mind’s eye for my next “favorite” color. It has been purples! Thanks for the giveaway. BTW…how many triangles or squares did you get out of one charm per color to make the zigzag blocks?
