Quilt Market 2016 Recap - Part 1
We just got back from Quilt Market in Houston and before it all becomes a blur, I wanted to share a few snippets! This time I will take you through a day-to-day breakdown of Quilt Market through our eyes - and get a peek at our new patterns. We also wore matching shirts everyday that are a little sassy =] There is so much to share, part 1 will contain a day to day breakdown and part 2 will have a booth tour!
Thursday - Setup
We woke up Thursday morning excited to get into the George R. Brown Convention Center and start putting our booth together! This was the first year we flew to Houston instead of driving, so we threw on our "Netflix and Quilt" shirts from Stately Type and showed up to our booth with the boxes containing our materials all ready for us. Here are a few photos of mayhem and shenanigans that is setup day!
Friday - Setup, Schoolhouse and Sample Spree
Because we have a pretty small booth, we had the majority of our booth put together on Thursday. We wore our "Sassafras Squad" shirts and walked around the convention center discussing what to say in our Schoolhouse. I found some awesome superhero props in the Moda booth and snapped a few photos. Next up was our Schoolhouse talk on our new block-of-the-month, Paradox Point book. After that we grabbed an early dinner and a couple margaritas before we setup our Sample Spree booth.
Saturday - Day 1
Day One of Quilt Market is always an exciting day! We got to our booth a little early and spruced it up! We wore our "Sew with Sass" shirts and orange converse and had a lot of fun meeting new quilt store owners and chatting with old friends! Two of our favorite Kiwis, Donna and Ashleigh Ward of Donna's Quilt Studio, stopped by and Ashleigh was sporting a Cassidy Crossover purse. My favorite photo is the one I snapped of Kristy and Juli working hard (while I stepped back to take a photo)!
Sunday - Day 2
Day Two we rocked our "Shake Your Sass" shirts and walked around the show before it opened. We found an adorable photo booth in the Monaluna booth and had some fun with props! We also found a quilt Kristy had quilted in show.
Monday - Day 3
Happy Halloween! We wore some fun "Squad Goals" shirts from Stately Type for the last day of Market. Monday is typically a little slower as far as traffic goes in the booth, so I snuck out and snapped some photos of a few things I loved, like the sloths hanging in Dear Stella's booth, RJR's "Quilt with Love" wall and Carolyn Friedlander's "Make Your Mark" display! We also had the sweetest booth visitor - an adorable golden dressed as a lion!
Alrighty - that was a lot of photos! Part 2 will have just as many =] so stay tuned for a booth tour. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon!
