Mini Mondays - Mini One Way
This week in our Mini Monday Series is our Mini One Way pattern!
Mini One Way is the miniature version of our fun One Way quilt pattern. Both patterns will be 20% off today and tomorrow (4/2/18 - 4/3/18 PST). Now let's chat about Mini One Way!
How Mini Is This Mini?
The Mini One Way finishes 12 inches wide by 15 inches tall. We replicated the original One Way pattern’s tall size layout to have 7 rows of alternating 3 or 2 blocks with a total of 18 blocks.
Choosing Fabric
The Mini One Way pattern calls for eighteen arrow fabrics and a background fabric. Choosing the assorted arrow fabrics that contrast with the background is pretty fun and easy! You can choose a theme of cool or warm colors, use a fabric line with small prints or create a spectrum wall hanging. We have one of these minis that my little cousin is in the middle of making in the sewing studio in cool gradating colors with a light grey background and it is amazing! I will share it when she finishes it up!
Techniques & Skills
This mini is made with simple patchwork! Each block is made with a triangle unit and rectangle unit sewn together to make an arrow. The blocks are then staggered to create a fun and dynamic layout.

Mini One Way is one of our easiest and fastest minis to make! Here are a few versions of this mini quilt we have made. I am sure there will be many more to come!
Our cover Mini One Way quilt is made with assorted solids for the arrows arranged to create a rainbow throughout the quilt, a solid white background and a black and white sketch print for the binding.
This mini features 18 different red prints in the arrows, a solid white background and a white and red stripe for the binding. This is a fun example of featuring one color in the arrows!
This last mini, made by Alayna (the self-proclaimed non-sewer of the family) features 18 different subtle prints that create a spectrum throughout the quilt, a white dot for the background and a black and white, with a pop of lime, for the binding.
