Introducing ZOOTROPOLIS 2!

Let's take a ride on the WILD SIDE!

If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram, you’ve been teased relentlessly with our daily character introduction videos! Zootropolis 2 is our newest self-published book and is a sequel of our popular Zootropolis book. Joining the rowdy high rise building full of animals, is a tall London-style bus full of new critters! Don’t want to make a bus? No problem! We have included an additional checkerboard quilt pattern. All the animals are fusible appliqué and can be set in either quilt or a fun pillow! We hope you experiment and play with these characters!

The INSPIRATION

After the original Zootropolis book came out, we were flooded with requests for more animals! We kept a list and tried to fit as many as we could into Zootropolis 2! There are 27 new critters (plus a few fun bonuses) in this book and once again, each one has their own personality - some sweet, some mischievous and some down right huggable!

The ANIMALS

27 NEW animals! Yup, in addition to all the original Zootropolis animals - that is 60 plus critters! These animals fit on the same size background square as the originals, so they can be mixed together in projects! Also like the original bunch, many of the animals are named after family and friends. Then the rest are entertaining alliterations that are fun to say! Do you have a favorite? Comment below and let us know which one!

  • A Bus Quilt Pattern (56” x 72”)

  • Layering Instructions for Each Animal
  • Fun Little Quips from the Animals
  • Multiple Pattern Bonuses and More!

The BUS QUILT

I wasn’t sure about a quintuple decker bus in theory, but the more I sketched it out, the more I loved it! Inspired by the tall buses of London and the one bus scene from Harry Potter, this tall goofy bus came to life! It is a bit of a puzzle to put together with all the animals hanging outside their windows, but I also think that is what makes it so cute! The little animals tucked and perched all along this snazzy ride sure do make me smile… and being driven by that wolf… too stinking silly!

The PILLOWS

Once again the pattern includes a fun pillow pattern that served a quick project to feature your favorite animals! We changed it up a bit from last time. The pillow now features an accent “diamond” peaking out from behind the animal. It is a simple yet striking design that still allows you play with color and use your favorite animal novelty fabrics. And of course…. We made one for every animal. How could we not?

The CHECKERBOARD QUILT

I couldn’t shake the idea of making a fun spectrum of animals separated by black and white quarter-square triangles. I finally mocked it up and fell in love. I added some border details so the black and white pieces appear to float into the border! This is a fun pattern because it is a “choose your path” style. You get to pick your favorite 25 animals (we mixed in some original Zootropolis animals) and organize them throughout the quilt as you wish. Because of this, it gets put together like a jigsaw puzzle, one chunk at time. But it is definitely worth it!
