Introducing the Sweary Seam Ripper

This mini pattern might look familiar to you. I originally designed the Sweary Seam Ripper as enamel pin and sticker, but couldn’t help myself and turned into an appliquéd mini quilt! So without further ado, I would like to officially introduce the Sweary Seam Ripper Mini Quilt Pattern.

The DETAILS

Choosing fabrics to make this little mini was pretty easy since I followed the color scheme of the enamel pin and sticker… for the most part! I chose two red fabrics for the handle of the ripper, 3 blues for the banner, a bright green for the background sparkle and fun polka dot print for the background. To add a little some extra (because it is me 😜) I used a piece of silver vinyl for the head of the ripper to imitate the metal!

The other noteworthy bit about this mini quilt is that it is round! This is completely optional, but we think gives it a little something extra! There is a corner template included in the pattern and we recommend making bias binding for finishing your Sweary Seam Ripper if you choose the round edge route!

The PATTERN

This would be the perfect decoration for your sewing space! Or make the perfect gift for your favorite sewist - because we all know, if you sew, you rip!

  • Pattern: Sweary Seam Ripper
  • Fabric: Red, Blue, Lime and Black Scraps on a white polka dot background
  • Quilting: Radiating Lines out from the appliqué
  • Finished Size: 13in x 18in
  • Techniques: Fusible Appliqué
  • Tip: If this is going to hang on a wall, back never to be seen again, use your appliqué as quilting. Quilt your background before fusing your design down, then appliqué through all the layers.

There seems to be a whole collection of Sweary Seam Ripper merch! 😂 Enamel Pins and Stickers are available as well as the Sweary Seam Ripper pattern in PDF and paper form. I think that's all for today folks! See you tomorrow for another edition of the Catch Up Blog Series!
