Introducing Mini Kingston Court
Mini quilts are some of my favorite things to make! They small, they are cute and they are hold as much punch as their bigger counterparts! Today is all about the adorable Mini Kingston Court quilt pattern. The colorful cutie is definitely one of my current favorite makes, so let’s get into the details.

The FABRICS
Picking the colors was a labor of love that was tedious but I honestly enjoyed it immensely! I pulled enough scraps to make 5 blocks in each color scheme and paired them all with a white accent. I also threw in a few fussy cut bits in there, can you spot them?
The PATTERN
This is one of those amazing patterns that take on different looks depending on the fabrics you use. Take a look at all the different large Kingston Court quilts here.
- Pattern: Mini Kingston Court
- Full-size Sidekick Pattern: Kingston Court
- Fabric: Assorted Colorful Scraps + white grid fabrics accent
- Quilting: Stitch-in-the-Ditch in the Blocks
- Finished Size: 12.5in x 16in
- Techniques: Foundation paper-piecing
- Tip: Remove the paper before sewing the rows together. Reduces the bulk and help keep those points crisp!
The DIFFERENCES
The original Kingston Court quilt pattern is traditional pieced, but while designing the Mini Kingston Court, we decided to make it foundation paper-pieced so those teeny tiny pieces don't get all wonky. It still has the same look and feel, just a little more structure. We recommend using an Add-an-Eighth ruler while constructing the mini quilt to keep your seam small and consistent.
The FINISHING TOUCHES
You know we love a black and white stripe binding to finish off our scrappy rainbow quilts and this Mini Kingston Court was no different! We added a little pop of solid purple to to one corner for a little extra interest. The quilting, simple but effective. We went with a simple stitch-in-the-ditch between the blocks. This quilting makes the triangles pop, giving it that fun three dimensional feel.
