Mini Quilts in Dear Stella Fabrics

For Quilt Market in Houston, we teamed up with Dear Stella to introduce our new mini quilt patterns in a Schoolhouse presentation. We made each of the six new patterns in some of the newest lines. Dear Stella fabrics are amazing to work with! Their lines are typically feminine and full of unique and striking color combinations.

Our good friend Juli Kieny made all of these mini quilts for us and they each turned out amazing! Each is wonderful in it's own right, so let's take a closer look at them all!

Mini Churndash Court in Pixie Dust

We chose the Pixie Dust fabric line to make this Mini Churndash Court. This line is full of pink and white prints featuring fairy tale castles, unicorns, fairies and stripes. We paired all the pink prints with a teal polka dot as the churndash to create a playful contrast. Juli quilted wavy lines a long the scrappy seams and across the churndash to create some fun texture!

Mini Lombard Street in Lilypad

This Mini Lombard Street quilt was made with the colorful Lilypad fabric line. This line is full of rich magenta, teal, navy and coral floral prints paired coordinating net prints. We used a mint net fabric as the background and absolutely love how it turned out! Juli quilted this mini with serpentine lines running through the background which makes the triangles pop!

Mini Lantern Lane in Intermix

These little hearts are my favorite print right now, and now there are more of them! We chose to pair these Hearts with our Mini Lantern Lane pattern. There weren't quite enough hearts back in September, so we added a lime polka dot for one lantern. We chose the white net fabric for the background. I love this print for backgrounds because it has just enough texture, but still reads almost solid. Juli quilted this mini with serpentining straight lines.

Mini Prism Parkway in Asuka

Mustard yellow, blue, orange AND funky flowers!? The Asuka fabric line was made just for me! We paired this colorful line with our Mini Prism Parkway pattern and love how it turned out! We used a solid white for the background to allow the prints to shine and bound it with the navy dash print. Juli quilted echoing hexagons in the quilt where the block come together, showcasing the hexagons.

Mini Euclid Avenue in Hello Sailor

The pieces in our Mini Euclid Avenue quilt pattern are pretty small, but we couldn't resist some fussy-cut dancing sailors and girls! Hello Sailor is an adorable patriotic line full of red, white, blue and maritime fun! We paired two red prints, two blue prints (including the fabulous dancing sailors!), two white prints and two navy prints to make this quilt. Juli did an amazing job fussy cutting the little characters to fit into the little pieces!

Mini Piccadilly Circle in Intermix

We love making the Mini Piccadilly Circle into a color wheel! Juli chose 10 of the colorful polka dot fabrics from the Intermix line and repeated them in each wedge of the circle. I love the radiating feel created! Pairing the dots with a solid white and navy makes this quilt pop! Juli quilted radiating lines through the wedges and circles in the background strips.
