Wild Moose Chase - Rainbow Herd

🎵 Every moose you make 🎵 Leads you right back here to see the next Wild Moose Chase project. And, lucky you - today is a twofer! We have a quilt and pillow to share today. Both of these projects were in the Clothworks booth at Quilt Market last month.

Wild Moose Chase - Rainbow Herd

Clothworks sent us a generous box full of assorted fabrics for us to use for both the quilt and pillow. We paired two fabrics together in close color families for the moose face in each block. The faces are composed of assorted prints and solids that when all put together create a beautiful spectrum of color. The background is a light grey solid the antlers are a solid brown and the binding is a solid blue.

Wild Moose Chase - Rainbow Herd

This is the largest Wild Moose Chase we have made and we absolutely love how it turned out! Kristy quilted this in her “fern” meander in a beautiful variegated thread that brings some life into the solid background. She also quilted each moose face with serpentining horizontal lines in matching threads - that was a whole lot of threads!

We chose 8 different bright solids for the moose face on the pillow and a solid grey for the antlers. All of this was placed on a black fabric featuring small gold dots. The background really allows the moose face to pop off the pillow and catch your eye.
