Paradox QAL - Block 9 April 28 2017, 0 Comments
I am late. I was so on top of this Paradox Point Quilt Along until Quilt Market prep took over my life! So, I am a few days late getting this post up - sorry! But, there will be some fun new patterns out soon, so get ready! Until then, let's take a look at these gorgeous Paradox Point blocks!
I am feeling the summer vibes of this block! The pop of yellow paired with the two black and white ME+YOU prints on the light grey background is dreamy and is making me wish I had a hammock ( and a yard =] ). This block combines a few of my favorite things - stripes and triangles and turned out great!
We all know I am in love with Juli's block! Those oranges are giving me serious heart eyes! She combined a yellow-orange oval print and a fiery orange print with the solid black. The newsprint background is still my favorite current quilt background and I can't wait to see how it looks all put together.
This calligraphy style low volume print MaryEllen used in this block is one of my favorites! It looks great paired with the creamier low volume print, navy accent, and dark background. I love each one of these more than the last!
Block 9 Design Options:
- Color Crazy - The little stripes and triangles in this block provide ample opportunities for some fussy cutting!
- Turn Down the Volume - This would be a fun block to make the stripes scrappy and use two contrasting low volumes in the triangles.
- Holi-Daze - I am back on a Christmas again and I would love to see this block made up with reds and greens with a pop of aqua for the accent!
Now your turn! We want to see how your blocks turn out. We have started a Flickr group so you can add your photos there. You can also tag photos on Instagram with #ParadoxPointQAL! We will pick another winner for a small giveaway from everyone who participates.
