Mini Mondays - Mini Wynkoop Court
This week in our Mini Monday Series is our Mini Wynkoop Court pattern!
Mini Wynkoop Court is the miniature version of our triangle-tastic Wynkoop Court quilt pattern. Both patterns will be 20% off today and tomorrow (4/7/18 - 4/8/18 PST). Now let's chat about Mini Wynkoop Court!
How Mini Is This Mini?
We took the original Wynkoop Court’s grande size and miniaturized it to make a mini quilt that finishes 13” x 16.5”. The little triangles and half hexagons can get a little wonky, so we recommend using a little spray starch to keep them from getting too warped while sewing!
Choosing Fabric
The Mini Wynkoop Court pattern calls for assorted scraps and one background. When planning your mini quilt, get creative! Dig into those scraps bins and pull a specific color scheme, fabric line or rainbow! I recommend cutting out all the pieces first, then arranging them on a design board so you can play around with placement.
Techniques & Skills
This mini is constructed just like it’s big buddy counterpart - with triangles and half hexagons! There are templates included in the pattern, but a 60° triangle ruler would help speed up the process. As I said before, a little bit of starch goes a long way to keeping these little triangles straight and from getting a little wonky.

Mini Wynkoop Court is a fun pattern to experiment with fabric placement and design. All of our samples are fun, but we plan to make many more with some different looks!
The cover Mini Wynkoop Court quilt is made up in assorted orange, coral and pink fabric scraps for the triangles and a white-on-white polka dot for the background. We bound the mini in a coral with an orange accent.
This version is featuring a fun floral fabric line from Dear Stella fabrics with a grey on white polka dot background. The triangles are all placed in the same spot around the hexagon to create some order with the variety of assorted colors.
This last Mini Wynkoop Court is made up in assorted lime green fabric scraps for the triangles and a solid white background. I love the swirling circular quilting in the centers of the hexagons on this one!
