Introducing DAZY DAISY DRIVE!

We are so excited to introduce our newest pattern - Dazy Daisy Drive! This pattern features funky appliquéd daisies dancing across a checkerboard background. I love how these organic irregular shapes look sitting on such a contrasting square background! These funky flowers look fun with traditional white petals AND in a plethora of colors - we made projects featuring both looks, so keep scrolling to see!

The INSPIRATION

Now, if you’ve been following along with us for a little while, you know an entire appliquéd quilt isn’t really our style. But after drawing some funky daisies for my Summer Lovin’ fabric line, I couldn’t shake the idea of an entire quilt covered in daisies. So I played with different background shapes, adding the stems and then removing the stems, and finally settled on this fun design with offset daisies, with stems and leaves, sitting on a checkerboard background.

Behind the SCENES

Kristy may have taken a nap on the job, but we still managed to get all these daisies appliquéd ;) We love appliqué, despite what Kristy’s mid-project nap may make you think!

The COVER QUILT

We made this Dazy Daisy Drive quilt completely out of Summer Lovin’! We used 8 different fabrics to background the Daisies and alternated 2 of the black and white prints for the stem backgrounds. The 2 greens from the fabric line make great stems and leaves and the 2 low volume prints are perfect daisy petals!

We made 4 blocks using each of the 8 backgrounds and arranged them so they gradate vertically through the quilt!

I took this quilt with me to a fun little photo shoot in downtown Honolulu where there are ton of beautiful murals! Poor Aaron came with me to hold the quilts only 10 days after his knee surgery. He was a trooper and held the quilts so well!

The TABLE RUNNER + PLACEMATS

To mix it up from the cover quilt, we decided to make a bunch of scrappy colorful daisies! Each flower has its own color scheme, but each petal is a different fabric. We placed them onto a black and white checkerboard background and they really pop!

Another fun little detail about this set: we used white cork for the centers of the daisies. We love adding another texture to projects! What do you think?
