Zoey's Zoo in Bright Batiks
Hello little lion! One of our family traditions is to make all our family and friends a baby quilt to welcome their new ones into the world. My Mom made this Zoey's Zoo quilt for our family friend's new baby girl, Rowan!
My Mom used assorted bright batiks (mostly from Timeless Treasures) to make this quilt! The combination of oranges, pinks, aquas and lime is cheerful and will surely put a smile on little Miss Rowan's face!
My mom backed the quilt in orange Minky so it will be extra warm and snuggly! She quilted simple straight horizontal lines across the quilt. The combination of straight line quilting and Minky backing gives this quilt the wonderful crinkly texture I love!
My Mom appliquéd the baby's name using a lime green batik and a black blanket stitch. The contrasting thread helps distinguish the name from the busy background.
