Shivaun Place in Tonga Batiks
Occasionally we get to make digital quilts for fabric companies, combining our patterns and their brand new fabric. These digital quilts get printed onto sales sheets and travel around with sales reps. It is a great way to show the new fabric and give our patterns some exposure. We have done a few of these for Timeless Treasures. I will share the rest another time, but today we are sharing our Shivaun Place.
We made a digital image of this quilt and a few weeks later, we received an email saying, "Keepsake Quilting would like to kit the quilt, would you be willing to make an actual quilt?" We said of course and made this fun pastel version of the Shivaun Place quilt.
The Tonga Parfait fabric line contains beautiful green, blue, yellow, pink, and muddled pastel colors. There are two main prints in the line that feature giraffes and elephants. We put the two animal prints in the center and the pastel tonals around them. My Mom, aka Wolf Creek Quilting, quilted an allover swirl and flower motif in a light yellow thread that just disappears into the quilt top.
The photo below is from Keepsake Quilting. I am a sucker for photo-shoots with babies and quilts! Click here to check out the Shivaun Place Kit from Keepsake!
