Mini Mondays - Mini Prism Parkway

This week in our Mini Monday Series is our Mini Prism Parkway pattern!

Mini Prism Parkway is the miniature version of our fabulous Prism Parkway quilt pattern. Both patterns will be 20% off today and tomorrow (3/26/18 - 3/27/18 PST). Now let's chat about Mini Prism Parkway

How Mini Is This Mini?

The Mini Prism Parkway finishes 12 inches wide by 16.25 inches tall. We made the blocks slighty different so the mini doesn’t have the same zigzagging top and bottom like the original - we didn’t want to bind those, so we figured you wouldn’t want to either!

Choosing Fabric

The Mini Prism Parkway looks great in all sorts of colorings! We have made them in rainbow, with one color scheme and to feature fabric lines. The blocks use very small pieces, so we recommend digging into those scrap bins. The background in this one allows for some experimenting - you could use a dark, light, use scraps or gradate the background with the colors!

Techniques & Skills

This mini is completely paper-pieced! There are two different triangle foundations and each only has 3 pieces, so the triangles fly together. The blocks are then arranged to alternate and create the fun look!

Inspiration Gallery

Mini Prism Parkway is a blast to make and experiment with! All our samples are made with light backgrounds, but it could be made with so many different colorings and designs.

Our cover Mini Prism Parkway is orange - our second most popular color way! This mini was made from assorted oranges from my scrap bin and a solid white background. We added a fun contrasting element with a pop of turquoise in the binding.

This next mini quilt features a fun Art Deco fabric line featuring reds, blues, geometric shapes and pops of metallic gold. We paired this gorgeous line with a solid white background and finished it with a striking gold binding.

This Mini Prism Parkway is a little different! I made 24 of each foundation A and B and arranged the blocks into a hexagon. This one is rainbow, of course! I used my Foundation fabric line, with the colors in rainbow order and the low volumes as the background.
