Introducing Mel's Mats!
We have been making these woven placemats for years as housewarming gifts, children's room decorations and table toppers! We finally turned these into Mel's Mats, a precut or scrap friendly placemat and table runner pattern. These placemats aren't only functional, but will brighten your table!
Mel's Mats includes directions for 8 matching placemats or 6 placemats and a table runner! The placemats finish 14" x 19" and the table runner 14" x 42".
I made the cover placemats with assorted scraps in pink, yellow, teal, purple, green, orange, blue and red on a black and white zebra stripe background. We bound them using a solid black to help tone them down a bit!
These little guys are addicting to make! Mel's Mats make for a great teaching opportunity. My favorite part is experimenting with the decorative stitches! It is a great way to get to know your machine.
