Foundation 2 Launch Recap: Amazing Makers, Gorgeous Quilts & Endless Inspiration!

What a week and a half! We had an absolute blast celebrating the Foundation 2 Launch Party over on Instagram, and now it’s time to round up all the creativity in one place. We teamed up with an incredible group of makers who brought their A-game — each creating something totally unique and jaw-droppingly beautiful with Foundation 2. From bold modern quilts to clever accessories, this talented crew showed just how versatile (and fun!) this collection can be.

Pattern: Ripple Quilt Pattern

Nicole wowed us with not one, but four Ripple Baby Quilts stitched up in Foundation 2. Each quilt radiates a unique vibe and showcases how beautifully this line can be divided up into color groups — the blues are dreamy like the ocean, the red and oranges look like dancing fire, the pinks and purples are sweet like candy, and the yellows and greens are a lemon lime dream. Nicole’s modern minimalism paired with Foundation 2’s punchy palette makes for mesmerizing combinations and I cannot wait to see how they look quilted up!

Robin Long of Robin Ruth Designs

Pattern: Bullseye – Free Pattern

This free Bullseye pattern hits the mark — pun intended! The pieced Mariner’s Compass blocks in Robin's design show off Foundation 2’s saturated hues and graphic lines perfectly, creating a playful sense of spinning in each block. It’s both dynamic and approachable, highlighting Robin’s signature strip pieced Mariner’s Compass technique. We absolutely adore her and her generosity in sharing this beautiful project as a free pattern — talk about spreading quilting joy! And if you haven’t tried her technique, you are missing out, go check it out!

Sydney Nordgren of Stuff Sydney Sews

Pattern: Wardle Pickleball Paddle Case PDF

Sydney stitched up not one but two adorable Wardle Pickleball Paddle Cases, proving that Foundation 2 isn’t just for quilts! The mix of bold geometric prints with sleek construction makes these accessories not only practical, but playful and stunning too. I love how she made one paddle cover to mimic retro tennis designs and one a quilty/pickleball mashup featuring the ball block from her Pickle Party pattern in the center of a sawtooth star. The limey green in Foundation 2 is so perfect for the ball! These cases are sure to turn heads both on and off the court!

Linda Sullivan of Colourwerx

Pattern: Colour Twist Quilt Pattern

Trust me, no one does color like Linda! She had her Colour Twist pattern in mind immediately when I sent her the swatches of Foundation 2 and I knew it would be a hit. The Colour Twist quilt is a visual explosion of color brought to you by foundation paper-piecing. The blocks glow with saturated tones that twist and turn across the quilt top. It’s a joyful exploration of color that perfectly captures Linda’s signature modern, funky, rainbow aesthetic. We couldn’t imagine a better pairing of pattern and palette!

Amanda Kelly of Quilt Cakes

Website: https://quiltcakes.substack.com

Pattern: Maple Blossom Quilt Pattern

Amanda’s Maple Blossoms quilt is the perfect mix of classic quilting and modern flair. These blooming blocks dance across a calming background allowing both the patchwork design and Foundation 2 fabrics to shine. If you aren’t following Amanda yet, you are going to want to! I adore how the Maple Blossom pattern looks in my fabrics, but she mocked this pattern up in many different color ways and I must admit the Halloween one is calling my name. I can’t thank Amanda enough for making her new pattern up in Foundation 2!

Amy Simmonds of Stitched by Starlight

Pattern: Mingling Stars Quilt Pattern

Okay, first things first, if you are one of the very few unlucky people who still have not seen Amy’s stop motion reel featuring this quilt, go watch it - it is so good! Amy’s Mingling Stars quilt pattern was made for Foundation 2 - no really, it was! Amy wrote this pattern specifically for this line and we are so glad she did! This quilt radiates warmth, joy and everything we love about scrappy rainbow projects! The way the color dances and flows from star to star feels seamless. We are in absolute awe of how cheerful, bright and fantastically fun this quilt is!

Erin Grogan of Love Sew Modern

Instagram: @lovesewmodern

Website: https://www.lovesewmodern.com

Pattern: Radical Cassettes Pattern

Erin has mastered the Venn diagram of retro and modern quilting. For the Launch she took her Radical Cassettes pattern and turned it into a gorgeous quilting ruler and mat tote bag — with a dash of “Life of a Showgirl” flair! This project is practical, nostalgic, and the orange and blue/teal color combination is giving SewGirl. The pieced cassette made up in Foundation 2 is better than anything I could have imagine when designing this line - someone please make the whole quilt! This bag is equal parts bold and brilliant, just like all of Erin’s projects!

Kaitlyn Howell of Knot + Thread Design

Pattern: All Things Tote Pattern

Blog Post: Rainbow All Things Tote

Kait’s Rainbow All Things Tote is the ultimate burst of joy! She used the full spectrum of Foundation 2’s colorful prints to create a tote that’s equal parts useful and beautiful. Like all of Kait’s bags, the craftsmanship is impeccable and every detail of this bag makes you happy. The stripes of color she stitched-and-flipped, the bright pink thread she quilted it with, the patchwork star side pocket and the adorable woven labels she added. This bag is proof that practical can still be playful — we’re obsessed! I’d love to carry this rainbow tote to the farmer’s market or a sewing retreat.

Jo Westfoot of The Crafty Nomad

Pattern: One Way or Another Quilt

Jo stitched up her One Way or Another quilt using the blues, teals and greens from Foundation 2, and the result is calming, crisp, and wonderfully graphic. We love how Jo’s thoughtful use of color palette and geometrics in this quilt creates a stunning modern work of art — it’s absolutely beautiful! The pattern for this quilt can be found with 11 others in the upcoming 2026 Patchwork Calendar. I can't wait to get my hands on one!

Pattern: Send With Love Quilt Pattern

Blog Post: Send With Love Quilt featuring Foundation 2

Kelly’s Send With Love quilt is pure happiness in fabric form! The ombre rainbow background created with squares and bold heart message bubbles is the perfect match for Foundation 2’s bright colors and simple designs. She reworked her original Send With Love pattern to make the background that gorgeous cascade of color and has written up special instructions so you can do the same. This quilt is an absolute showstopper just like everything Kelly makes, so go read her blog post for more info and a behind the scenes look at the process.
