Lombard Street in Crayon Box

Here is another fun Quilt Market project! We made this Lombard Street quilt to be featured in the Michael Miller Fabrics booth. This quilt features the Crayon Box Basics line and we love how it turned out! The quilt finished 47” x 54” - the perfect size for a throw or large wall hanging.

Crayon Box Basics is chalked full of fun bright colors and prints. There are 2 different sized houndstooth prints and 3 different dot sizes in each of the 9 colors. The crayon box set has every color of the rainbow: yellow, light orange, dark orange, red, purple, navy, blue, turquoise and green. We put all these fun prints on a solid white background and they pop!

My Mom, aka Wolf Creek Quilting, quilted this quilt with tight vertical straight lines. I love, love, love how this simple quilting adds life to this quilt. It has that great crinkle texture we all know I love.

We made some fun binding for this quilt. We used the cut-offs from the triangles and sewed them together in color order. We placed the yellow through red scraps on the top right of the quilt and the purple through green scraps along the right side. We also threw in a little piece of the backing fabric on the left side of the quilt.

We made a label using the small yellow houndstooth and teal dot fabrics and our our Easy Quilt Label tutorial. I have a few “fonts” in my arsenal and I really like this one with the thick left side.

Love your quilt, the pattern and the fabrics! When I try to find you sight for the pattern and Michael Miller fabrics, there is nothing there. Can you tell me where I could find the pattern and information about the fabrics? Thank you so much!
