Let's Talk Color! July 10 2013, 4 Comments

In my Let's Get Acquainted Blog Hop post, I asked hoppers about color. What is your favorite color and is it reflected in your sewing projects?

Why did I ask this? Well, because I want to know if I am abnormal! While I was gathering photos to introduce my quilty self, I noticed that none of my projects reflected my favorite color, orange. Odd! Right? Well, maybe not. So I thought I would ask other quilters.

I got mixed results that fell into three major categories:

    • I love Color 1 and yes, It shows up in almost all my projects!
    • I love every single color there is! No favorites!
    • I love Color 2, but strangely, no it is not in much of my sewing.

Woohoo! I am not alone. But, I decided to start an orange quilt, you know, for good measure. It is a fun project for Quiltmaker magazine. It is not exclusively orange, but mostly. I am excited to see how it turns out. I am using the Tangier Ikat line by Dena Designs for FreeSpirit. I am loving it!

The pattern involves taking these basic nine-patches and doing something fun with them! Each person on staff has a completely different color way and it should be fun to see how they turn out.

I apologize for the lack of blogging lately. If it makes you feel better, there has been a lack of sewing too... which makes me less than happy. My life blew up this last week. In a (stressful life-changing) good sort of way. More on that later, but I do not see any heavy sewing in my near future. An inpromptu road trip to California, yes. Sewing, no. Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you soon!
