Paradox Point QAL - Block 8

I am heading up to Seattle at sunrise tomorrow morning so we will have loads of sneak peeks of our Spring patterns once my Mom and I are in the same state! Until then, we are still cruising along on our Paradox Point Quilt Along. These amazing sewers are on their 8th blocks which means they are 2/3rds of the way through! The 8th block has arrows inside of an arrow - it is the quilting version of inception!

Kristy's Block:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 8

This combo makes me smile! I love the black on white polka dot, white on black chevron print and fuchsia solid together. The bright pink/purple solid fabric that highlights the black arrow shapes in the block looks amazing - It makes me want to make an entire quilt with these colors.

Juli's Block:

The value swap from Kristy's to Juli's block is great. Her solid black accent solidifies the light teal arrows and her dark teal print is just perfect! Teal is one of my favorite colors and paired with the black and newsprint background, it really pops!

MaryEllen's Block:

MaryEllen is cruising along with her blocks and this one is a stunner just like the rest! She combined two low volumes with a blue tone-on-tone and it looks great! The blue highlights the lighter low volume and brings the block some contrast.

When I get up to Seattle, I will try to get Alayna into the sewing room while she is on Spring Break!

Block 8 Design Options:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 8

  1. Color Crazy - The arrows in this block allow for ample opportunities for color placement. Go a little crazy and have some fun!
  2. Turn Down the Volume - If using low volumes, the arrow gets divided up perfectly for the accent to provide some contrast - just like MaryEllen's block!
  3. Holi-Daze - When the arrows come together inside this block, it reminds me a bit of a flag. I popped some red, white and blue in there for a festive block.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
