Paradox Point QAL - Block 6

Today marks the half-way point of our Paradox Point Quilt Along! We are on our 6th block and we love seeing your creations! If anyone was at QuiltCon a couple weekends ago, they may have seen the Paradox Point quilt Kristy made hanging up in the Hoffman California Fabrics booth! I will see if I can hunt down some photos. Until then, here are our block 6's!

Kristy's Block:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 6

Is there a more classic color combination than black, white and red? Possibly, but this is a beautiful block made with a triangular black print on a white background, a blobby white grid on a black background and a solid red accent. I love how many different black and white prints Me+You offers!

Juli's Block:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 6

We have another amazingly sunny block from Juli! She combined two softer yellow prints with a solid black accent and newsprint background to make this block 6. This block is very fitting for the super warm weather we are having here in CO. East coast friends stay warm in that snow storm!

MaryEllen's Block:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 6

And yet another stunning and warm block from MaryEllen! Her block 6 features two light prints for the main prints, a white fabric and a taupe fabric. These have some great contrast and look great with the dark accent and textured background. She is cruising along and I can't wait to see more!

Alayna Update:

Alayna came out to visit me this last weekend so she is a little behind on her block, but when she gets caught up, I will be sure to post it!

Block 6 Design Options:

Paradox Point QAL - Block 6

  1. Color Crazy - There are some larger pieces in this block that would make for some fun fussy-cut fabrics.
  2. Turn Down the Volume - Can you imagine adorable little critters on low volume backgrounds popping out in this block!
  3. Holi-Daze - The chevrons in this block are screaming "Use your holiday stripes" and that would be a fun twist.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Our winner this week is 20 year-old

Haley Schober who learned to paper piece using our Paradox Point pattern! I can't wait to see if she turns them into a full block!

Now your turn - keep sharing those photos folks! We want to see how your blocks turn out. We have started a Flickr group so you can add your photos there. You can also tag photos on Instagram with #ParadoxPointQAL! We will pick another winner for a small giveaway from everyone who participates.

First time here, no problem! Join in the fun. Read up on the previous posts here, grab a book and begin when it works for you. Thanks for stopping by and don't be shy with any questions and comments!
