Introducing Bourbon Street!

This is one of our "long-time coming" patterns. We taught this quilt as a Mystery Class back in February.... yes, February. But patterns are now finally available!! Woo hoo! It is a good feeling to get something posted you have been working on forever!

The blocks in the cover quilt reminded me of fireworks. Fireworks led me to celebration; and what street is there a big celebration on?? Bourbon Street! That is how this pattern was named. Some of our pattern names make more sense and some even less =] But I think it is a fun name.

This is an old vintage quilt pattern, reworked and made modern. Jelly Roll, Bali Pop and Scrap Basket friendly. This fun pattern utilizes simple paper-piecing to ensure perfect points! Unique, yet traditional; this quilt pattern includes four different sizes.

We had a lot of fun taking photos of this quilt. We found a pile of pallets in an industrial area and draped Bourbon Street over them. We fought with the wind for awhile and but we got a few good shots!

This is the shot we ended up using for the cover. The pattern name (street sign) hides all the ugly background and the quilt sat flat enough for a nice photo.

If you make this pattern or any other of our Sassafras Lane Designs patterns, send us an email! We would love to feature you and the quilt on here!

The Bourbon Street quilt pattern is available here in PDF and paper form. Let us know if you have any questions. We have a few more versions of this one made, so expect more Bourbon Street in the near future! Thank you for stopping by!
