Introducing Mini Lantern Lane

Lantern Lane is one of our Fall Market pattern releases and we couldn't resist turning it into a mini quilt pattern too! It is a fun and easy-to-construct pattern that looks interesting and complex. We chose 9 different lime, green and aqua prints for the lanterns and placed them on a light teal hatching background to make this Mini Lantern Lane quilt.

Kristy quilted this mini quilt with straight vertical lines varying in width from 1/4 to 1/2 inch apart. She bound the quilt in a fun green scale fabric with a pop of lime green on the side. We love adding a little interest to bindings!

Here is a photo for scale, so you can see how small the mini is when being compared to the original Lantern LaneThe strips are about half as thick and there are a few less per lantern than the original, but I think you still get the same lantern look and feel!

When we received a bundle of Rae Ritchie's debut line with Dear Stella, Desert Bloom, we knew we wanted to make it into a mini quilt! We decided to make a Mini Lantern Lane using the 9 light fabrics to create the lanterns and the black scallop print as the background. I love the colors in this line and love how this mini turned out!

Alison Glass's Handcrafted Indigos are rich beautiful prints and we made a few mini quilts with them! We chose 9 of the light blue and teals for the lanterns and used the excess navy from the center of a border print for the background. Kristy quilted vertical wavy lines in a medium teal and bound it in the same navy. My favorite part is the little bits of prints that show up in the lantern pieces!

I love holiday quilts, so when our friend Juli mentioned she was going to make a Christmas version of our Mini Lantern Lane, I couldn't wait to see it! She chose 9 different holiday prints for the lanterns and placed them on a solid bright red background! It is such a festive and happy quilt!
